Sports injuries should always be taken seriously. If you decide to “work it out” or ignore it, your injury can become worse and lead to further damage or need more extensive treatments (such as surgery).
As soon as you are injured, rest your injury, elevate it, and ice it down for a couple of days to reduce the swelling. If you are still in pain after trying that approach, come in for an evaluation.
We first try to treat minor problems with a conservative care approach, such as starting with physical therapy and strengthening exercises. Only when symptoms do not improve will we discuss the possibility of surgery to repair your injury.
Your ability to get back out there in peak performance depends on how thoroughly you heal. We specialize in sports injury treatments to help you achieve the best possible outcome.
